TAREE, NSW. VIABUILD™, the construction intelligence platform founded by CALDON™ Group, is now open to every Australian residential builder. The waitlist has closed, signup is self-serve, and a builder can start a seven-day free trial without speaking to anyone.
The move follows a founding-member program that began in July, during which the first building companies were onboarded and the platform was hardened against real jobs, real invoices and real progress claims.
One record, carried forward
Most construction software records what a builder types into it. VIABUILD™ is built on a different premise, which the company calls a system of understanding. The job is entered once and carried forward. The estimate becomes the budget. The budget becomes the purchase orders. The orders are matched to the invoices, and the invoices flow through to the progress claim. It is the same record at every step rather than five copies of it.
The platform covers estimating and takeoff, purchase orders, scheduling, cost tracking, client selections, variations, progress claims, site safety and the ViaSite field app, in a single system. The full list is on the features page.
What has shipped since June
The past quarter has been the most productive in the company’s history. Four releases matter most to builders.
- Native Xero integration. Two-way sync of contacts, bills and payments, with progress claims landing in Xero as authorised invoices. It is included in the platform price.
- A trade and supplier portal. Subcontractors and suppliers log in to see their purchase orders, submit invoices directly into accounts payable, and access the documents for their jobs.
- Accounts payable that reads the invoice. Oryn™, the evidence layer inside VIABUILD™, reads incoming invoices, matches them to the purchase order, proposes the cost coding and learns from each correction a builder makes.
- Open access for AI assistants. Every VIABUILD™ customer can now connect an AI assistant to their own data through the Model Context Protocol, with token management, audit logging and rate limits.
Oryn™ is now developed by Oryn Technologies Pty Ltd, a dedicated entity within the Group.
“We spent a long time building before we asked anyone to pay for it, because builders have been sold enough software that does not understand how a job actually runs,” said Brad Caldon, founder of CALDON™ Group. “Opening the doors is the point where that stops being our opinion and starts being tested by the industry. That is exactly where we want to be.”
Pricing without project limits
VIABUILD™ is priced per company rather than per project. Projects are unlimited and are never a billing input. After the free trial, the first month is $299, then $555 a month with three users included and no lock-in. Annual plans include done-for-you migration from a builder’s existing system and a guided implementation. Current pricing is published in full at viabuild.au/pricing.
Built in regional Australia
VIABUILD™ was designed and engineered in Taree, on the NSW Mid North Coast, by a team with more than two decades in residential construction and more than 200 homes delivered. The platform’s workflows come directly from that experience, which is why it suits custom home builders, project home builders, renovation builders and husband-and-wife building companies alike. The thinking behind it is published openly in the VIABUILD™ knowledge library.
“We have argued that serious technology can be built from regional Australia. VIABUILD™ being open to the whole country, from Taree, is the evidence,” said Caldon.
VIABUILD™ is the construction technology business of CALDON™ Group, a privately owned Australian company that founds, builds, acquires and grows businesses that strengthen the construction industry. For more, visit VIABUILD™, read about the company, see the portfolio or contact media@caldon.com.au.
